We all know how I feel about sports and fashion holding hands so it only seemed appropriate to discuss this Adidas+Farm collaboration for the FIFA world cup. My soccer knowledge can be described as “The Beckham family” and “Ronaldo” but this gives me a reason to deeply respect soccer in every way. Adidas had already gained my affection with its Stella McCartney line with its amazing lines and patterns had the world looking at workout wear very differently.
In the words of Miranda Priestly, I know that florals for spring aren’t exactly groundbreaking but my heart literally skipped a beat when I saw this collection. I know not all Brazilian’s are thrilled when it comes to money being spent on FIFA instead of improving health care and education in Brazil (which by the way major kudos to the people of brazil protesting) but in the very least if large corporations are planning on invading cities for self promotion, at least team up with a local brand and support the local industries.
Farm has already collaborated with Converse, and of course our other famous Brazilian brand Havaiana’s. I couldn’t navigate their website very well despite my best Google translate efforts but their florals and lingerie are absolutely stunning.
If the beautiful people and beaches of Brazil weren’t already calling my name, I think an investigative trip to find more amazing brands I’ve never heard of may be in my near future.
