When you live in a city where the weather is as unpredictable as a drunk female who ran into her ex boyfriend at a bar, you need to be prepared for whatever life throws at you. This is especially true with fashion layering so when mother nature changes more than 20 degrees in a day you can just remove a layer (nature PMS).
The goal in the winter is layering up a la Man Repeller where you have so many different layers on that you bare a striking resemblance to the local homeless man. One of the best way’s to do this is a pair of black tights and to pile on the summer clothes from there. This can go extremely trashy if not executed properly, so remember to pair with a good jacket and winter textures.
I struggle to buy expensive spring/summer clothes because I know how little I will get to wear them in a city that rarely even gets to a temperature that you can even tan in. However, with the right shoe and short combo you can increase your cost per wear and feel slightly less guilty about buying YSL Sandals.
Overalls are too precious and short lived of a trend to be limited to the summers so I figured I decided I would make this a year round thing for me. Remember to keep an alert eye on the camel toe factor, this is very real with adult overalls—you’ve been warned.
Another win of wearing summer clothes in the winter is how nice the bright colours look against the snow. This colour was big on runways last spring and I love it with a white background. It’s also great for when you have translucent un tanned skin like myself to ensure that you don’t blend in completely into the world.
And of course, if these three do it then you know it’s a fashion yes.
