Sweater weather? you mean LEATHER Weather!

I held off on this trend for so long that I actually thought I had missed the boat, that I had at let the leather pant trend sail past me while I watched with despair. Realizing around 4 seasons ago that I couldn’t afford the Vince pair I wanted that were a third the cost of my tuition, I gave up, not wanting a cheaper substitute. Give me proper leather pants, or give me death.  That was, until I let the Aritiza pleather ones grace my ass for only $125.

Despite my inner urge to perm my hair and light up a cigarette while strutting around with John Travolta while wearing them, my mission became how useful will these pants be to my everyday life? (apparently there is a serious lack of John Travolta’s following me around singing to me). After wiggling around like a cat in heat trying to get them on for about an hour, I fell in love with my bottom all over again.

Here is a couple of my favourite ways to wear them, casual with some plaid and ankle boots, or with heels and a blazer to head out on the town. Full leg coverage is a must for going out in these winter months and so much easier than tights, which require you to shave your legs… and really, who wants to do that in the winter?? (being single also helps avoid this issue…)

Another great way to sport the all leather everything look this season is with leather sweatpants, a la my super trendy friend Pamela  seen below. What I love about this look is how easy it was for her to throw on a graphic tee and chunky necklace and suddenly look straight out of a streetstyle blog. She found these babies on eBay and I feel like everyone is going to be wanting them in the spring with a pair of strappy sandals. Why? Because everything is better in sweatpant version.
